Dave Matthews Band still rocks!
I have been seeing DMB live since my first concert ever when I was 10 years old. The show was set to start at 7 PM. Fortunately, we already had our tickets, so we didn't have to wait at the Box Office! The line at the Main Entrance was already pretty long, but the South Entrance line was still pretty short. My partner and I arrived around 2:30 PM to scope out the venue and check out the status of the line. Once we were in, we claimed a spot in the pit, and the show started just a little after 7 PM.
Because I'm short, it was hard for me to see the other side of stage, despite being up front. Boyd shook some hands. The guys played a killer show. The energy was good. Our spot was just a little left of center, right up front. Carter signed some things and passed out drum sticks at the end. The only thing I didn't care for, which was a venue issue, was that the venue is supposedly a smoke-free zone. Looking around, there wasn't an empty seat in the house. The cigarette smoking is mainly what bothered me. All in all, it was pretty fantastic. They truly do put on the best live show. The band is all about connecting with their fans. I love how the band is all about connecting with their fans. The venue was packed. Waiting in line for 3 1/2 hours paid off! We had the best view of Boyd and Dave. Between the music, the lights, the dancing, the weather, the connection between the band and their fans...I couldn't have asked for a better night. Dave even posed and smiled for me once when he caught me snapping a picture of him. I was an excited little fan girl.
Doors were supposed to open at 5:30 PM, however, they did not open until 6 PM. But I was disappointed that people were still smoking cigarettes and weed. People were lighting up right in front of the venue staff, and yet they weren't doing anything to stop them. So we hopped in line at the South Entrance and waited.
